My Personal Skincare Routine
Over the years, I've learned that consistency matters far more than having a cabinet full of products. I don't chase every new trend. Instead, I've built a routine around products that work well for my skin and habits that I can realistically maintain every day.
My goal isn't "perfect" skin. It's healthy, balanced, glowing skin that still looks like skin. You can shop all of my recommendations here: Via my SHOP MY
Morning Routine
Step 1: Cleanse
I begin each morning by either rinsing my face with cool water or washing with the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser, depending on what my skin needs that day.
If my skin feels clean when I wake up, a simple rinse is often enough. If I've exercised, applied heavier skincare the night before, or my skin feels oilier than usual, I'll use the cleanser.
I always use lukewarm or cool water rather than hot water to help preserve my skin barrier.
Step 2: Organic Rose Water
After gently patting my skin mostly dry, I generously mist my face, neck and chest (sometimes arms and legs! I also use rose water in my hair for curly days.) with organic rose water.
I love applying my hydrating products while my skin is still slightly damp because they absorb beautifully and help lock in moisture.
Step 3: Anua 70+ Glowy Milk Toner
Next, I apply the Anua Glowy Milk Toner. (one of my new favorites!)
This has become one of my favorite products because it leaves my skin feeling hydrated, calm, and incredibly soft while helping prepare it for the next step in my routine.
Rather than rubbing, I gently press it into my skin using my hands.
Step 4: Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun SPF
Every single morning, I finish my skincare routine with the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun SPF.
This is the one step I never skip. Daily sun protection is one of the most effective ways to help prevent premature aging, discoloration, and unnecessary UV damage.
I apply a generous amount to my face, ears, neck, and any exposed chest, then allow it to absorb for several minutes before applying makeup.
Throughout the day, I make an effort to reapply my sunscreen, especially if I'm spending time outdoors or driving. My favorite options are the Sun Bum Face Mist and the Supergoop! (Re)setting 100% Mineral Powder SPF 35.
The Sun Bum Face Mist has been a staple for years. I keep one in my professional makeup kit, another in my set bag when I'm working on film and television productions, and one for everyday life. It's an easy way to refresh my SPF over makeup without disrupting my look, which is why it's become one of those products I always have on hand.
I also love the Supergoop! (Re)setting Mineral Powder. I keep it in my purse, my car, or my carry-on bag so I can quickly touch up my sun protection wherever I am. It's lightweight, mess-free, and incredibly convenient for travel or busy days when I don't want to apply a traditional lotion over my makeup.
I've been using these sun protection products for years, and I genuinely swear by them. Finding products that make sunscreen easy to wear—and easy to reapply—has been one of the biggest reasons I've been able to stay consistent with this habit.
If I'm staying home and not wearing makeup, this is usually where my morning routine ends. (maybe a touch of mascara!)
Evening Routine
Evening skincare is my opportunity to completely cleanse my skin, encourage overnight renewal, and take a few quiet minutes to unwind before bed.
Step 1: Remove Makeup
If I've worn makeup, I begin by removing everything with Garnier Micellar Water or It Bye Bye Makeup cleansing balm.
I use a soft microfiber washcloth to gently lift away makeup, sunscreen, and impurities without aggressively rubbing my skin.
Step 2: Double Cleanse
After removing my makeup, I wash my face with the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser.
Double cleansing helps ensure every trace of makeup, sunscreen, and oil is removed before applying my nighttime skincare.
Step 3: PanOxyl Acne Wash (Only When Needed)
If I'm experiencing breakouts, I cleanse the affected areas with PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash.
I let it remain on my skin for about two minutes before rinsing so the benzoyl peroxide has time to work effectively.
I only use this step when my skin needs it rather than every evening.
Step 4: Organic Rose Water
Once my skin is completely clean, I mist it generously with organic rose water.
This restores hydration after cleansing and prepares my skin for the rest of my routine.
Step 5: Anua 70+ Glowy Milk Toner
While my skin is still slightly damp, I apply my Anua Glowy Milk Toner by gently pressing it into my skin.
Hydrated skin provides an ideal foundation for the rest of my evening products.
Step 6: Omnilux Contour Face Mask
Before applying my treatment products, I use my Omnilux Contour Face red light therapy mask on clean skin.
This has become one of my favorite parts of my evening because it gives me ten quiet minutes to slow down, breathe, and transition into the evening while supporting my skincare routine.
Step 7: Naturium Retinal
After my red light therapy session, I apply my Naturium Retinaldehyde Cream Serum 0.10%.
I spread a thin, even layer over my face, carefully avoiding the immediate eye area.
I allow it to absorb for several minutes before moving on to my moisturizer.
Retinal has become one of the cornerstone products in my routine because of its long-term benefits for improving skin texture, encouraging healthy cell turnover, and supporting smoother, brighter-looking skin.
Step 8: Argentum Day & Night Silver Cream
Once my retinal has absorbed, I apply my Argentum Day & Night Silver Cream.
This seals in hydration, supports my skin barrier overnight, and leaves my skin feeling soft and nourished by morning.
I don't forget my neck and décolletage, since these areas deserve just as much care as my face.
Step 9: Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
Before bed, I apply a generous layer of the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask.
This is one of the final steps in my skincare routine and one I rarely skip. It keeps my lips feeling soft, smooth, and hydrated overnight, and I almost never wake up with dry or chapped lips.
I think healthy lips are just as important as healthy skin, and this simple step has become an easy nightly habit that makes a noticeable difference.
Step 10: Eyelash Enhancing Serum
After my skincare has fully absorbed and my lashes are completely clean and dry, I apply my Forchics Eyelash Enhancing Serum (linked an alternative here).
A small amount along the lash line is all that's needed, and consistency has been the key.
Step 11: Protect My Hair/ face while sleeping
Before getting into bed, I loosely gather my hair into a bun using a large 100% mulberry silk scrunchie. This helps reduce friction, minimizes tangles and breakage, and keeps my hair off my face while I sleep.
One thing I always encourage people to pay attention to is the difference between silk and satin. These terms are often used interchangeably, but they are not the same thing.
Silk is a natural fiber produced by silkworms, while satin simply describes a type of weave or finish. Satin can be made from silk, but it's much more commonly made from synthetic materials like polyester or nylon. Because of this, many products marketed as "satin" are not silk at all.
If you're investing in products for healthier hair and skin, I recommend choosing 100% mulberry silk whenever possible. Silk is naturally breathable, temperature-regulating, and gentle on both your hair and skin, making it more comfortable to sleep on throughout the year. Synthetic satin, on the other hand, can retain more heat and may not offer the same breathability or long-term durability.
In addition to my silk scrunchie, I also sleep with a 100% mulberry silk pillowcase and a 100% mulberry silk sleep mask. Together, they help reduce friction on my hair and skin, feel incredibly luxurious, and have become some of my favorite small upgrades to my nightly routine.
My Philosophy
I've never believed that skincare has to be complicated.
For me, beautiful skin comes from taking care of it every day with products that I genuinely enjoy using, ingredients backed by research, and habits that I can realistically maintain.
Rather than constantly trying something new, I've found that consistency is what creates lasting results. When I cleanse thoroughly, protect my skin from the sun, nourish my skin barrier, use retinal consistently, and allow myself a few quiet moments of self-care each evening, my skin responds beautifully.
It's a routine that feels luxurious without being overwhelming, and one that I genuinely look forward to every single day.
